Why is Your Child Safer at Bluebonnet?
Bluebonnet is licensed by Texas Dept. of Family and Protective Services, which regulates programs operating more than 120 days a year. Youth camps in Texas which operate only in the summer are licensed by the Texas Dept. of State Health Services. Many summer camps are not regulated by any agency at all.

The rules from protective services are enormously more rigorous than the state health department regarding safety and health standards, training of staff on child discipline & appropriate interaction, qualifications of administrators, & background checks of staff. Parents who care about their child’s safety need to know the difference.

Why is an accredited program a better place
for your child?

Bluebonnet follows even higher standards than TX Dept. of Family and Protective Services by voluntarily undergoing accreditation with NAEYC and NAC, both nationally recognized and rigorous, the only facility in Texas accredited by both. In NAEYC and NAC accredited facilities, parents will see demanding safety and sanitation practices, frequent warm interactions between teachers and children, smaller groups sizes, well-trained teachers, regular two-way communication with families, nutritious meals and effective administration.
